e-guma Connect

In this article you'll find out how to install and configure e-guma Connect. The Windows service e-guma Connect is needed for various additional functions of the e-guma Ticket System, such as: for example, printing admission tickets with thermal printers or printing name badges at check-in. 

Please be aware that e-guma Connect must be installed on a notebook or tablet with the operating system Windows 10 Pro or Windows 11 Pro.

Download the e-guma Connect programme here: Download e-guma Connect.

Create an e-guma Connect folder, preferably under C:\Connect and extract the files there.

Right click on the file "Install.cmd" and select Run As Administrator.

Now the Windows service is installed and started up directly.

Open Windows Services (search "services") and open the service e-guma Connect by double clicking.

In the Log On tab, make sure that the service is running on the current account (not local system account). If necessary, you can use Browse > Advanced > Search Now to select your current account. You may be asked to enter your login credentials.

e-guma Connect is now correctly installed. 

During an e-guma Connect update it may be that the service stops, the Connect.exe file is replaced and the service restarts.

Configuration e-guma Connect

On your PC, click on Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners and then copy the exact name of the desired printer.

Then go to C:\Connect and open the file Connect.config.xml using Notepad++.

Insert the name of your printer between <TicketPrinterName> and </TicketPrinterName> (for printing tickets) as well as between <LabelPrinterName> and </LabelPrinterName> (for printing name tags), and then save the file.

Open Windows Services through the search, click on the E-GUMA Connect service, and select "Restart" to update the printer you just set up.
